Helping Unemployed Adults Reinvent Themselves

About Us

The Glen Carbon Centennial Library, Edwardsville Public Library, Bethalto Public Library District & Wood River Public Library have worked together to create this resource for adults in our communities who want to reinvent themselves.  This web site provides both business and educational resources for people who are interested in starting their own business or going back to school.  We have collected all of the best information in our region to help you!  As always YOUR libraries are here to serve you. This Transform U web portal was provided by a grant through a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian program awarded to the Illinois State Library from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Business

If you are interested in starting your own business; click the business link to jump into everything from databases, community mentors, business forms, financial resources and more!  You can find virtually all of the information you need to start your own business in one convenient location.

Education

If you are thinking about going back to school, we know the process can be daunting. Whether you’ve never attended college before, or if you haven’t been to school in years, you’ve got enough on your mind without having to spend hours looking for information. We’ve consolidated our local Illinois college websites, and included some of the best links to get you started. You can also listen or watch interviews with adults who have already taken the steps you are considering to get back in school. Going back to school can be a very worthwhile experience and boost your earning power.
